The entire Class Warfare technique requires that there be a class of rich evil bastards who don't deserve to keep their money and can have it taken from them. The fact that such a class is largely non-existent--as you say the cutoff point for the top 1 percent is about $300,000 in taxable income (gross would be higher)--doesn't seem to register.
And like many leftist political principles, Class Warfare has been obsolete in America for about fifty years.
