And then they spend a lot of time beating each other up to establish their turf.
Fortunately, it's not (completely) a race, and (some of) us can still see value in each other, otherwise neither sex would be here...
How long will that last if reproduction is reduced to petrie dishes?
This deserves more comment than I can give it, really. For instance: How much has female "value" to males been determined by reproductive characteristics over the centuries? How much has male "value" to females been determined by the ability to protect from other males? How has the measure of female value been changed by the growth of civilization to include skills best done by our small, nimble hands? How much has female ability to determine our own course been influenced by this economic factor and by another: weapons that give us range, so that strength is no longer the overwhelming factor it once was? And how much of the violence against women we are seeing now is the result of women being able to counteract "the greedy, aggressive, selfish, fast-living risk-taking, male genotype" (sometimes to the benefit of men who are less like this, and sometimes resulting in women living alone), and the owners of that genotype acting out in frustration?
But basically, all I wanted to point out is that the demise of old-fashioned sexual reproduction is not something that men should stand up and cheer about.

Have you noticed that fewer boys live to adulthood, relatively speaking, than their sisters?
