What is your motivation to having them released. Do you see any short or long-term benefits to it?
Congress has seen the photos, I assume they will be investigating the problem starting from the bottom and taking it up as high as it goes. It is their job to provide the check on the executive branch. Let them do their job. It is our job to make sure they provide that check. I don't see how releasing the photos to us will accomplish that, unless Congress waffles on it. Then I would probably agree that more leaks might be helpful.
Like Frank said, I have no doubt that these pictures will be leaked at some point. It may be in Bush's best interest to release them all now, to keep them from turning up in October. It would have to be a calculted risk to not release them.
I really don't know if there's much good to be gained by releasing them now. America is already naked and embarrassed before the world from the first set of leaked images. To release more could inflict more damage on our citizens and militery abroad, then to not release them. In the interest of full disclosure, it might be good to release them, but there will still be plenty that would believe we are holding back and covering up. To release them only to the investigation committess and congress we are providing a more discreet disclosure, and must rely on our governing sytem to work the way it was intended to bring us justice. This to me is the preferable way. I'd be interested in hearing counterarguments though.
