That's absolutely true for conservatives, you're right.
As evidenced by the posts here, where the problem is the publicity those tortures are getting.
And for some of us the tragedy lies in what America has done to herself through those actions.
We've squandered the good will of the world, we've gone from a leader in human rights to a pathetic giant pulling the legs off people for the fun of it, we've given up our civil rights in favor of a very big brother.
We are a rogue nation.
Once we were proud champions of pretty much everything that is good. And now the civilized world, politely, scorns us.
With good reason.
If one can't weep for the Iraqis, one can for a once great country.
