Yes, it was small-scale. Only a few hundred prisoners were abused. Mostly made to walk around naked with women's underwear on their heads. Big deal.
Saddam tortured and murdered over a million, and nobody gave a damn.
We got rid of that bastard. In the process, we killed a few thousand and abused a few hundred, only a few seriously.
There is a factor of hundreds, or even a thousand, in the ratio here.
I am totally sick of the USA being compared with Saddam and the other Arab regimes because of some guys wearing ladies' underwear on their heads.
For the guys we ACTUALLY TORTURED, who were innocent, I do feel sorry. It was improper. Those responsible should be tried, and if convicted, punished.
But the Iraq torture scandal is a drop in the bucket compared to what happens daily in almost ALL Arab countries even today. Look at Syria and Libya. Libya has over 250,000 Christian (black) slaves it bought from Sudan. They will NEVER be freed as long as Qadaffi lives.
In other words, minor small-scale abuse is not worth the press that it receiving.
I STILL don't give a damn.

I am sick of the emphasis on a small-scale abuse problem.
