McCarthyism/Internment

Good points and things to be aware of but in both instances we were afraid of the “Boogeyman” Al Qaida's objectives and methods on the other hand are very real. Again “most terrorists are Muslims” is a perception that's not hard to come by.

"I'm talking attitudes, the attitudes of the majority toward minorities and how they get whipped up. It starts with things like demonizing a population"

I think “we” as a population, from the President on down, have done very well to avoid demonizing Muslims. Part of what you call “attitudes” is the frustration of seeing a religion twisted to justify murder and foster political power.

"Islamics are causing less havoc in the world than folks who follow the Judeo-Christian traditions."

I think you’re confusing cause and effect here.

"It's important to have a perspective, and when everyone, especially a government which cannot seem to tell the truth is urging one to look to one side, only. Clearly there's something on the other side they don't want you to see. People have to look both ways to be safe."

While I’m not 100% behind this, it’s the most coherent thing you’ve said in awhile.

And BTW... my spelling,

…you have a keen eye for the oblivious.
