Hi Davin. Good to see you back. I have missed our debates.
Point of fact, we have found in Iraq 1 single 155-millimeter artillery round confirmed to have been containing decayed sarin nerve agent dating from the period in which we were actively engaged in helping Iraq build and use such weapons. Where you get your 14 shells of sarin is a mystery (I certainly have no such data, would you like to provide some support for yourself?), and your pointing to 'WMD Scientists' is a bit absurd to. Should Saddam have shot them? Rocet motors in Jorden are, well, rocket motors in Jordan- not 'Active WMD programs producing proscribed munitions'.
*we have found 14 shells with either Saran or mustered gas in them. When they were made or how Saddam got them is irreverent. They are still deadly. He told the UN inspectors he had destroyed them. They are WMD and he was not supposed to have them in his country.
*Those rocket motors in Jorden were from Iraq, and they were from banned rockets.
Thats the dumbest thing I have ebver heard. You are using proximity with Afghanistan to argue active collaboration with Al Qaeda? What cracker-jack box did you dig that line of argument out of?
*Not really. The way some people talk, you would think Iraq and Afghanistan were 2000 miles away. The fact they are next door, with only Iran between them shows just how close Al Qaeda's home country was to Iraq.
*Basically, they are close to each other. That makes it easier for Al Qaeda to travel between the two countries. Do you really think the Iranians would stop them?
we know nothing of the sort. we have allegations and assertions of such contacting- and uniformly those alegations have Al Qaeda spurning Iraq.
*This evidence came to light last week. I guess you missed it.
In that we fabricated a threat that did not exist to justify a war- yeah sure, we're all safe. Congratulations to you and your side. Real men!
*So you would have rather wait until he attacked us? We went through one 9/11. Some of us do not want to go through another. Saddam was a threat once to the world, and he has always been a threat to his own people.
In the end, REB, you supported this war because you believed, not knew. You shirk off the moral implications of that acting off of blind faith, I think, because you just don't want to look it in the face and own up to it. The argumnents you present are on the order of faery dust- a great story but no reality.
*It wasn't blind faith. Between Saddam's history and the evidence, that was enough. I personally could care less about all the reasons presented for going to war. For me, Saddam gassing those Kurds is enough. He should have been taken down long ago. I really don't care about the WMD or the Al Qaeda link stuff. The man was a murder and I am glad to see him gone. Good riddance.
*Why can't you see what good we have done by ridding Saddam from Iraq. So, you don't agree with why we got rid of that murder. We'll never see eye to eye on that- never. And I am tired of arguing with Donald, Lindy and Bowser about it (And Tony too) So you think Bush is as bad as Saddam. Don't vote for him. Lets freaking move on and think about what good we are doing in Iraq. Good things are happening over there.
