As I pointed out in an earlier post it was clear Bush. Cheney and Co had a hard on for Saddam well before they were appointed. There's no question this was a personal fight. Anyone who tries to deny this fact is utterly full of shit.
My opinion is: it doesn't matter because Saddam was an evil MF. This guy's demise makes me sleep better at night. The cost of american military personel killed AND innocent "collateral damage" is horrible, but ultimately giving Iraq freedom was far less costly in those terms than even that same cost in WWII of giving Belgium freedom.
And REALLY, that is what they are getting: FREEDOM. We are not "occupiers" historically. We did not occupy the nations we freed from Germany or Japan. We did not even occupy Germany and Japan any longer than necessary. And we will not perpetually occupy Iraq either. OBVIOUSLY. Iraq now has a chance to be free!
Contemplate this.
