I can't believe the childlike faith liberals have in this concept.

Every entitlement ever created in the United States has far outstripped every cost prediction. Sometimes by an order of magnitude. Every single one.

Every entitlement every created in the United States has far exceeded its original designed intent, with constant benefit "creep" and constant expansion of the population to which the benefit applies. Every single one.

See a pattern here?

There are ten times as many people in the United States as there are in Canada. There are almost as many people in the United States as there are in the whole European Union. It does not take a genius to infer that maybe, just maybe, applying universal health care in the United States might be a bigger problem than it is for some other nations.

I recall Dean bragging about how he balanced the budget in Vermont, a state with a smaller population than the city of San Francisco.

It isn't going to work. Any analysis of the concept in light of the political drivers that will control it, show that it can't work. The least disastrous result will be intensive rationing. I don't even want to imagine what will happen to the world health care system when the free-market engines that have driven health care advances dry up.

And please don't tell me about how the government pays for all the research. I've cited sources several times for this to show that it isn't true, and frankly, I'm getting tired of repeating myself. Bookmark some of my sources once in a while.
