You're still trying to detach the "worker" from the "capitalist" that's just so...so...Marxist.
The worker is a capitalist. He get's a job, doing what he's good at hopefully, and as a capitalist he sells his services to his employer.
Yeah, I have a photographic memory. It's often a curse. Some things one would rather forget. I remember the threads that took place on msnbc like they were yesterday. Anyone remember Plumer, the cut and paste creationist...or Bowser when he was posting under another pseudonym, or Luis on the Mysteries board arguing about light speed and all the folks there? I remember all that stuff, sadly. On the plus side it gives a greater context when dealing with the totality of someone's posts. Remembering your "capitalist tool" remark from a day or so ago wasn't real difficult.
You have to get past the "we" and "them" stuff. You've been sold a bill of divisive goods by someone who wants you to consider yourself an outsider and a "tool" of a system. Just like the black race was told it was repressed by "the man" by the folks who really did want to exploit them.
If one believes in work for pay - one is a capitalist. If one believes goods and services can be bought and sold for money, one is a capitalist. You're a capitalist Robert. A big bad capitalist -- and now you're going to be working for a big, bad capitalist company. Some newbie programmer on the outside, and also buying into the leftist line, is going to look at you and say, "It's successful capitalists like him who exploit us little guys!" Would it be true? Of course not.
I've been on the bottom of the totem pole and on the top. Ive taken orders and given orders. It's part of the system. I've heard complaints about the "grubbing, evil, management" when on the bottom and heard complaints about the "whining, selfish workers" when on the top. This "we" versus "them" stuff is just (pardon the pun) a bill of goods you've been sold.
I don't think I'm unique in realizing the big picture on capitalism. If one loves what one does and understands that capitalism kicks tail over any alternative - one should have no problem with being a "capitalist".
