At least that's what the surveys say.
The reports that came out this past month concluded neither administration ineptness nor dishonesty, despite the best premeditated Democratic attempts to steer some of them that way. As I expected, the conclusions went in one ear and out the other. I must have quoted the relevant passages here and elsewhere five times. It's like I'm talking Chinese.
And of course the last thing on Earth Democrats want to consider is the possibility that the frightening intelligence on Iraq that Clinton, Gore, their cabinet, and the Congress demonstrably bought wholesale in the late 1990s might--just might--have still been accepted by a President Gore as well. Don't like that idea much, I bet.
The really sad part is that many Democrats actually believe this tripe with all their heart.
If only Gore were President, the towers would not have fallen. Bin Laden would have taken up goat farming. The Palestinians would stop bombing Israel and vice versa. All the world would have loved us. Saddam would have taken up knitting, his homicidal sons reformed. Kahn in Pakistan would have foresworn his secret Middle Eastern nuke ring. The Taliban would have started its own womens lib movement. Iran, Libya and North Korea would have disarmed their WMD programs out of the goodness of their hearts, and best of all, France would be pretending to like us again.
God, fantasy is easy. Having to slog through reality is hard. And right now, Kerry has offered only fantasy. Except when he's talking surrender.
Current Events » in reply to And I gave reason- but its much more dramatic to pull a line out of context and trumpet it.
The vast majority of Kerry voters fall into that category.
