To know that having the largest deficit in history is a sign of economic growth.
I am re-assured to see total national debt continue its climb at its eerie linear rate, namely $52 billion per month. Look at that number again. Watch it climb to the sky and pay attention to Tom explain that it's a GOOD thing and proof that preznit Bush is looking out for our best interests. That's right; look at it - look at the number $52 billion! A month! Each and every month! Let this number burn into your brain, because years from now your grandchildren are going to ask what happened to the economy?
They will ask why they can't have cars, go to college, have the things that kids in China and Japan take for granted.
To put this in perspective, we are talking $372 in extra debt, PER MONTH, for everybody who has a job in this whole country,
including government workers! And next month it is going to be ANOTHER $372! And then another and another and another!
Month after month, year after year, this Bush league administration is putting you farther and farther into debt. And this does
not even include the debt that you voluntarily take on, like adding debt to your house on a home equity loan to buy a sports car.
But, Tom and the Republican apologist have explained this is actually "growing" the economy. Yeah, like I look and see all inflation indicators published up 3 per cent or more. Like the GDP deflator was up 3.2 per cent this year. Last year this time it was up 1.1 per cent. Wow! this means that inflation has tripled in just one year. How about that for growth, sports fans?
In the last 25 months, we as Americans have accumulated, in that direct south to north diagonal, another $1.3
trillion in new federal debt.
Gee, I bet another tax cut for those earning over $250,000. per year and the elimination on all taxation for corporations (at least those few that actually pay any taxes) would make our economy grow even more. I know I am doing my part, I am spending myself rich in the new American tradition as explained to me by Tom Broz.
