It's always been government spending, probably always will be, and neither party is willing to put the brakes on.

I did the numbers a while ago, and the amount of revenue lost from the tax cuts is dwarfed by government growth.

The Federal budget is twice what it was in 1977, and four times what it was in 1960. That's adjusted for inflation.

During this same time (since 1960) the population has gone from about 179 million to 294 million. Not even doubled.

Unless we were all living in a third-world nation in 1960, it's pretty hard to believe that all of this additional money is being spent on absolutely essential items.

Tax cuts are good, but Bush has really stunk in the spending-cutting department.

The Left has a touching faith that you can expand government endlessly, and if you just tax only the Evil People, somehow the money will be there and we will all live in a paradise. Sorry. Doesn't work.

You liberals, next time you decide a trillion-dollar entitlement sounds like a good idea, like nationalized health care or something similar, just run your heads under cold water until it goes away. Or shut up about deficits.
