Saddam violated the truce agreement requiring inspections. On those grounds alone a resumption of hostilities is justified. You also ignore UN resolution 1441. Your handwaiving 20/20 hindsights which dismiss what most believed prior to the war are irrelevant.
These soldiers died fighting for America's safety and Iraqi freedom whether you want to admit it or not. No direct link to 911 is needed nore in my mind was that ever claimed as a justification. The WMD justification was not A Bush cooked up lie. It is a lie to claim it was. The secondary but important justification of removing a dangerous man from power was acheived and more evidence found increasing the importance of that objective. You both continue to ignore that as well. You're reactions are the same as those that allowed Hitler to gain power. Pacifism is a good trait that can become a vice when used as an excuse to avoid confronting brutality and aggression.
