The Republicans do it a lot.
The point here is not that there is gambling in California, or that there was gambling in California under Democratic governors. The point is not whether Native American tribes pay taxes, or whether California tax payers need relief.
The point is, Republican politicians run often on the "family values"/"Christian nation"/"Biblical tenets" platform. Yet gambling is frowned upon and sometimes condemned by the very congregations to which this platform is designed to appeal.
The point is, if political parties are to run an anti-moral-turpitude campaign based on traditional conservative Christian moral strictures, they must be consistent about it. They can condemn sex yet support theft and turn a blind eye to gambling only if they want to send the message that some sins are okey-dokey.
So which of the Seven Deadly Sins do the Republicans oppose? I would have thought all of them, based on their press releases.
