source of CO2 not covered by Kyoto
I'll grant you that solar variation plays a role. But to say it is the only driving force is too simplistic for a wildly dynamic system.
The reason I didn't support Kyoto Protocols was that it didn't really address the problems of Asian input to the atmospheric CO2 levels.
The issue of coal fires is just one example of CO2 sources that were not (I believe) covered by Kyoto.
From the BBC, 2003
Coal Fires are 'Global Catastrophe'
"They said that putting out the fires in China alone would cut CO2 emissions equivalent to the volume produced by all US automobiles in a year."
"This is an opportunity to go after a source of CO2 emissions that doesn't hurt anyone's present consumption but will reduce the overall numbers."
