Where ya been?
It's the uncivilized behavior of our troops that is the insurgents biggest ally. We've shot up civilians, detained the innocent, tortured at random, held relatives hostage, in general been indiscriminate in our behavior.
Only a small minority have done that, it's true. And I wish that mattered. It doesn't.
Another thing that is frequently forgotten is that the US has invaded their country, illegally and without provocation.
The US is in their country, running their affairs, giving their oil to Halliburton, their money to Bechtel.
Do you really expect people to welcome foreigners who shoot up the landscape under those conditions? Would you?
