We were watching the news today and I forget which channel it was, but I will...er..."never forget" the commercial. Oh, how I wish I could.
I will admit to being driven to involvement in some pretty tasteless small-scale "tributes" on the previous two anniversaries of 9/11, in an effort to make certain people stop being loud and dumb and tacky and disrespectful. And they were composed of a broad cross-section of ages, races, genders, hometowns, educational levels, and political affiliations, so hold those comments right there. We thought, if we push their own words just that little bit farther, perhaps they will recognize and reconsider their loud, dumb, tacky disrespect and remember why it might be a better time for sober reflection than bizarre and/or partisan grandstanding. Sometimes it worked, which was nice. This year, we didn't do anything. Apparently, we didn't need to. The National Collector's Mint did it for us.

Does anyone else have a problem with this? I mean, it's funny, but in an awful way. This is like something we would have designed for satirical purposes. I'm a bit upset that it's...it's so...terribly...real.
