Except for the part about voting for Bobby Kennedy, of course. I was a twinkle in nobody's eye in 1968.
I can't say I find either Bush or Kerry to be a real prize pig. I've lost all the faith in the system that I had when I young(er) and (more) naive in 1992. Our fifth-grade class had a mock election, which was quite exciting, even though everyone knows how our school district's mock elections will turn out before they start. Actually...Perot, the candidate that my group was assigned to campaign for, ended up doing surprisingly well. I can only assume that it was because of the zany posters we resorted to, our 10-year-old brains unable to process his message of "a chart for every pie".
I think maybe my political strategy will be to work to make sure that the President and the majority in Congress are of opposite parties. Then, with luck, they'll be deadlocked and won't go around doing things. It makes me so uneasy when they're playing nicely and quietly. I don't know what they're up to.
Love this thread...hey, everyone! Bitter much?
