This leads to another $64,000 question: Is it better to remain static in Iraq and let the bad guys come to us for killing? --or-- Is it better to launch a new front and discover new ways to kill bad guys? The old dictum, "The best defense is a strong offense" would indicate that we should wind down Iraq and go after the Iranians or possibly the Syrians. I suspect that going after the Syrians would be a mistake. I think(?) they could be prodded into "doing a Libya" and taking care of themselves. Iran is another matter all together. The mullahs in Iran really need to be exterminated. However there are a whole lot of extreme religious crazies in Iran. Killing the mullahs while keeping our own casulties under 10,000 would be tricky. Maybe we should sit tight in Iraq and let the martys come to us?
