You have a different perception of "freedom".

Being illegally invaded and occupied without cause by a foreign army which is not accountable to any local authorities and having your one natural resource controlled by cronies of the invader, is "freedom".

And stop with the "Saddam's gone" stuff. He's long gone, and the foreign invader and occupier is still there. The "Saddam's gone" idea would also say the slaves in America were "free" because they weren't under the control of some tribal chief.

Boy, howdy, I don't think George Washington would agree with your definition.
