Global Warming

We now know for certain that certain human activities are affecting climate. We also know for certain that the average global temperature is steadily rising. And, we know for certain that this increase in temperature will increase drought in some places and floods in others. And we can expect storm events such as hurricanes and tornados to increase in frequency and severity, due to the change in average global temperature.

While we can't blame George Bush for global warming, we can certainly note that he and his Republican comrades in Congress have worked tirelessly for the past four years to frustrate international action necessary to slow and possibly reverse this disturbing trend in our planetary climate. The Bush administration has even covered up the science by removing reports on global warming from easy public access.

As the people of Florida and Alabama put their lives back together following the effects of multiple hurricances, they should be asking what the Bush administration what it is doing to curtail global warming and its potential effects on storm frequency and severity.
