"Science" isn't a motive. But what you do with what science teaches is "political." My problem is that the Bush administration's motivation has abandon the science altogether in favor of pure politics.

Science is telling us that greenhouse gas emissions are contributing to global warming. Politics is doing something about it. Mr. Bush isn't.
