It requires judgement.
The statistics that are allowed to replace judgement often miss the real issues significantly.
AQ, if they had not been so effectively stopped from their plans to ruin the US after 911, would have had terrible impacts on our economy, and our ability to deal with things like medical research.
When Belgium's neutrality failed at the beginning of WWII, many things that were formerly important became absolutely destroyed under the new state of affairs.
AQ wants no less of a disruption in our society.
I will take my chances with heart disease and cancer. WE must deal with people who make war on us.
The stats in a way are meaningless for what we are facing.
that is not fear, but focusing on the numbers while ignoring the reality is escapism.

- If we want to break up terror, Iraq is the current theatre of operations
- Well duh.
- Where would the theater of operations be otherwise?
- So Saddam was not a major player in terrorism prior to our invasion?
- Not only that
- Well duh.
- I would think you would be right if.......
