Sorry pal, but Islam or Stevens or whatever the hell he wants to be called, crossed the line when he supported the killing of Rushdie. At that point in my life, his music, message, and anything about him became moot to me. He simply became a wacked out hypocrite. Our country prevents lots of people from entering daily for much less sinister reasons. The only reason you're aware of this at all is because of his prior notoriety.
Now if he's truly had a change of heart in life and is calling for the end of the violence in the name of Islam, then let him speak a bit louder and use that notoriety for some good. For me to give him much creedence though, he'd have to thoroughly apologize for his earlier discretions and renounce a good portion of his life.

- So keeping a supporter of murder and terror out is persecution now?

- He is not Cat Stevens, nor has he been for many years. Why would he revert back to a name he legally dropped? Perhaps because 'Yousef Islam' says a bit more than he wants us to think?
- Save the indignation for something deserving of it
