Current intelligence estimates seem to indicate Israel in possession of about 100 nuclear weapons and, knowing the Israelis, multiple ways of deploying them. Yes, of course a small country like Israel would be hit hard by even a single nuclear weapon but my guess is that they are fully prepared to absorb the first blow and deliver a hellish counterstrike on multiple strategic targets throughout the Mideast. It's also my guess that if Israel sees the nuclear buildup as inevitable, that they would probably be the ones to strike first. They're not exactly a timid nation in that regard.
The mullah that you quote in your post below is probably now on a hit squad list of Mossad.
Something tells me that when the hell breaks loose there, our national interests are better served back on our own soil than in the middle of a terrible bloodbath. I also think it would probably be the death blow to Islamic fundamentalism. Would also end the silliness of the Christian concept of Armagheddon when nobody's raptured after event. It's too bad though that the rapture will never occur. I was really looking forward to picking up some nice automobiles as their drivers were whisked away.
