There was plenty of time in 2000 for exhaustive recounts, but they were suppressed - in many states, both those that went republican, as well as those that went democrat. Many overseas military ballots were never counted, and as we now know, there was much duplicate voting in New York and Florida -

The result is that W Bush had to go in to the war on bin Laden and on Saddam with a divided electorate, part of which did not believe that he was legitimately president - yet another stunningly bad decision by our Supreme Court, one on a par with some of their recent decisions concerning medical practice -

This election also appears to be close - many democrats are mad as hell, and are not going to wait until election day to come up with responses -

I think the word here is "vigilent" - they are going to check and re-check going in, and holler early -
