You'll appreciate this:
Beth was talking to a friend of hers, who also just graduated from college this year, and he said that the election results were probably for the best. "We're bound to go through a fascist phase, so it's best to do it now and get it out of the way while it's relatively weak," he said. Of course, he can talk: he's going to Denmark for graduate work.
I don't feel like a loser, but I'm beginning to think I'm an enabler. This is the problem.
In any case, it never hurts to plan, and I can't leave with a kid in high school. She has a right to her little world. I grew up with some people I knew since babyhood, and it seems to be important to be able to expand a ring of relationships rather than to leave it and start a new one when you're young and learning how. Besides, we'd have to find her a new orthodontist. ;)

Thanks.

- It seems to have been a fairly won, and lost, election. Unfortunately, one has to wonder.
- Go take a flying leap for yourself, stupid.
