It's not as bad as it looks.
Looking at that red-and-blue map and watching what is not just an alternate philosophy of governance but a contradictory and radical worldview march across the country, sucking more of it up all the time, I finally said it out loud. Well, in print.
That map you see every day makes us look like we have an Iron Curtain in this country. On a different thread I showed a more accurate map The country looks a lot more evenly distributed, doesn't it?
On the same thread, I linked to a map from 2000 showing each state with red and blue mixed according to votes. Most of the country is some shade of purple.
Wow...when did conservatives become "alternative, contradictory and radical?" Maybe I should buy a beret.
