I'm for oil drilling in Alasker if need be but otherwise I agree that Bush does not have a helpful environmental policy. He also has done nothing substantive to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Given that we're at war, I would violate my small l type of thinking and advocate govt instituted higher gas mileage requiremenst for SUVs, etc. Set incentives and penalties forcing a move to more efficient hybrids, a technology that requires no new infrastructure.
On the economy, if Bush is true to his word he'll make tax cuts permanent rather than sunsteted, which is good. That would boost long term CAPITAL investment by industry and finally employ many folks. On the bad side, he's a profligate spender, pandering to special interests like the geezeroid voting bloc.
