Just something to keep in mind.
I have not looked into the photographer's background, and have no evidence that he supports or is even sympathetic to the insurgency.
But any photographs from an area where information is controlled and perceived opposition can be met with deadly force, need to be taken with a grain of salt.
If a "Life" photographer did a photo essay in the heart of North Korea, I would urge the same caution.
It is important because there is a strong tendency to latch onto such pictures or to insurgency statements as proven facts in a war of information.
To be fair, photographers imbedded with our own military are also restricted in many ways, but I doubt any of them would be executed for a misstep.
