It's terrorists and Baathists versus the rest of Iraq, with a large helping of foreign insurgents thrown in. You could call that a civil war, and be accurate by the standard definition, but the alternative would have been an entire nation under slavery, and it still is if we give up.
I am continously amazed by the number of people who are shocked that violence increases when battles start.
