Faulty assumption

All of the above concerns about courage and risk assume that the conquest of space is going to be done by government bureaucrats. Maybe you need to turn around and talk to Rutan's test pilots for a while.

If they can figure out a way to boost the Hubble into a higher orbit for a few years, repairmen will become available.
