Must admit that I was a kid and TWTWTW was on later than I was allowed to stay up. Except for a few times. Luckily some of the satire was not so specifically current-eventy that I always didn't get the joke. Only reason I remember the show at all.
The only bit from the show I remember was a skit about the UN. The British ambassador said something critical about the American space program. The American ambassador said something like "May I remind my esteemed colleague that last Wednesday the British space program fell off a truck and broke."
Rude, but humor a kid could understand. Space tie-in, too.
