The thing about South Park

R.L. — 12/7/2004 6:36:45 AM (archived)

They make fun of the left just as often.... They really are equal opportunity offenders- they have attacked the radical left and the radical right. You need to watch them more.... as for nothing being sacred, that really is the point of satire isnt it?

I like south park even when it riffs on the lefty nuts- I can laugh at the hypocricy on both sides...

The thing I like about the show is it takes a current topic and shows how silly both sides are... In general the side that cant laugh at themselves has a serious problem.

When i first heard of the show i assumed it was like 'beavis and butthead' it is much more than that, it pokes fun at social issues - kinda like a Mark twain without the eloquence...

I would not say they are liberal, (tho i guess they vote to the left) they make fun of both sides, and usually they are on target.

Satire is the best form of protest- it can be as effective as marching in the street, and sometimes more so
