Cripes, do you think I'm going to track them down or something?
Scandinavian nations have been ideal "bedroom nations" for many years. Garrison Keillor was in Denmark for a while.
BTW, a pair of Christian missionaries would be number one on the target list for the people we are fighting. Hiding away in Europe while other people stand between them and jihad, they'll probably be safe enough.
The treatment of prisoners has been a dark story for many, many years. The tiniest amount of research would reveal U.S. actions in, for example, WWII, that (though rare)make the abuses in Iraq look tame. And then, as now, these abuses were dwarfed by what our enemies did to our prisoners. American military personnel have not enjoyed the benefits of the Geneva convention from any enemy, anywhere, for half a century.
Only in the age of digital cameras has this become something that hits the front pages for use as a political weapon. I've noticed that damn few photos of what the insurgents did in Fallujah seem to be hitting those front pages.
But then, it only matters when you're shitting on your own side, isn't it? "Higher standards" and all that.

So, what nations are on their "short list?"
