Now, can I get you to admit that a lot of folk's lives were improved by the Cuban revolution?
Improved? By what standards?
You can't split the topic of freedom away from this question. It is NOT a separate subject.
You can make an excellent case that the descendants of the slaves hauled over from Africa now live a vastly better life than the descendants of those left behind. Does this justify slavery?
As for people being "better off" now under Castro, to really make the point that Castro had anything to do with that, you would have to look at other similar nations not under a dictatorship and track their progress and the lives of their citizens since the time of the Cuban revolution. Taking something from level one to level four isn't very impressive if everyone else has gone to level eight.
It's been almost fifty years. You have no idea what Cuba would be like today if the communists hadn't taken over and frozen that society where it is.
Current Events » in reply to freedom is a new and separate topic from what we were discussing and what your right-wing spinmeister was pitching
No. It isn't.
