The President has signed a series of findings and executive orders authorizing secret commando groups and other Special Forces units to conduct covert operations against suspected terrorist targets in as many as ten nations in the Middle East and South Asia.
Cripes, I would hope so. Isn't that the entire point? Haven't I heard people here say this is what we should have done in Iraq?
Given the behavior of Senators and Congressmen in recent years--cheerfully blasting secret information across the media when it serves a political purpose--I'm not surprised that the military wants to keep some things out of that loop. Remember those leaked Intelligence Committee memos? For some people on the Committee, apparently top priority is winning elections.
What did the article call them? "Mattress mice?"
Or maybe the European approach?

And the complete impotence of the United Nations in stopping Iran from developing nukes has been obvious for many months.
