Nice view

I'll have to compare it to the other maps I have, get my bearings. IR is great for showing structures.

On the image I posted above, there is a hook shaped area of slightly darker material just above Vostok, oriented from lower left to upper right. The rectangle is at the short end of the "hook". That may represent slopes of a small rise, or an area of different surface material.

There are many interesting short linear features (not the photolines). I'm thinking of the cracks discovered on the way to the crater. I've begun to play with them a bit, looking for prefered orientations, angular relationships, etc. The angles of the hook are similar to the angles of some of these linear features.

The rectangle is a must see, in my opinion, and it is on the way, really. A shadow, probably, but of what?

My intuition of Vostok: Partially buried crater. The penultimate dust bowl. Don't go in there.

Are there stereo pairs at this scale???
