As far as I know, it is only the land package in AutoCad that supports DEM, but I've not really looked in awhile, not really needing it in the immediate future except for extracurricular activties.

I wonder what is seen in the conversion to DXF? Mesh? Points? contours? a shaded raster?

If I pursue this line o' investigation, I'll let you know what I find.
