Maybe the position it was after the withdrawal from Vietnam when they decided to cut South Vietnam's funding off at the knees and let them be overrun?
The goal of losing the war is accomplished, you get to stick a finger in the eye of a hated President again, and nobody can point the finger. What's not to like?
Would Kerry be asking for billions for Iraq right now? And if not, then what?
For all those still allergic to this kind of thinking, I'm sorry, but it's kind of binary. Either Kerry would still be prosecuting the war, or he would be "throwing in the towel." You don't get to waffle on this one, although God knows he tried his best during the campaign. He was fortunate that most of his interviewers badly wanted him to win.
At least Kucinich was honest enough to say he'd bail in a second and leave Iraq to burn.
Current Events » in reply to Since nothing the Dem leadership said even mentioned throwing in the towel.......
