Tom continues his predictable muttering to himself.....
Let's ignore content for the moment.
Wonder how many times collectivism has to be tried before humanity finally gets the message.
I know you are totally opposed to any collectivisim, period. I also know these little blurbs play well in the echo chamber. People not in the loop will have more difficulty determining what you're muttering about though. If you wan't to assume that they'll agree cause YOU posted it, then you're good to go. Interesting to note that the article is written in much the same manner. Another think tank egghead preaching to his choir.
Now, the word collectivism. First time I read it was in Anthem by ynou know who. Everytime I've seen it since, it's in more by said author or material descended(derivative) of her work. You need a new derogatory term for those stinking, ignorant South American Indian pesants who ruin your theoretical-conceptual gestalt and coffee buzz. Pinko and commie are SOOOOO twen-cen. You need something fresh that'll play well with the shouting heads.
Wonder how many times collectivism has to be tried before humanity finally gets the message.
Do I get to guess the message? Do I get to make it up? Ok, how about.....
The message is, "Humanity must always bow to the legacy of colonialism by never acting in the interest of the nations populace over the interest of Lord Vestey and his regal pals."
Democracy and Freedom, aren't, if it's only for the top 10% of the populace. The lower class could and should be more than just a source of desperate laborers willing to work for peanuts. In Venezuela and S.America, there are plenty of legacies that need to be dislodged before the nations can be considered as by and for the people. Once people living in these countries collectively ('scuse the term. count to ten man, just walk it off...) realize that they the majority, not the dictators or elites, are for whom the government should work, then we're going to see more of reforms like this. Sure, it's going to be things we wouldn't be totally comfortable with here in the U.S. but Venezuela is in a very different place historically and culturally.
Everytime the reactionary interests in these countries recovering from colonialism, jail or otherwise silence the reasonable and rational reformers, then they're going to get Chavez and his like. Popular tyrants with criminal ties who can survive and thrive in such a cutthroat arena.
Oh when, will they ever get the message....? 8-P
