Attempting to bring an underclass into the "system" is a good idea.
I realize the banana republics were a conservatives dream, but the strength of a country lies in it's middle class.
Which is under attack in the US.
One example - 43 million folks don't have medical insurance, therefore adequate medical care. They either go broke, or do without. And at the same time, the US tries to occupy a country of 23 million foreigners half a world away. The direct and indirect costs of that adventure in occupation (democracy only by conservatives definition) are incalculable but could go toward making people well, rather than killing 'em.
Go figure. Seems shortsighted, at best. And segues into cruel.
