the bottom line is for someone to get the job done, and integrate well with fellow workers and management. Unnecessary restrictions & regimentation in the workplace ruins the freedom of action for the individual, and wrecks the project as you mention .. Loyalty to the other people and to the goals & spirit of the project should be the main game. No-one should have to time tea breaks or put cameras in the dunnies (=toilets ..)
