Very unlikely that particular dust devil was the culprit and yes much more likely gusty winds, but hey saying "DUST DEVIL CLEANS SPIRITS PANELS" is a better attention grabber. Lol And who knows for sure?

Seriously, maybe the warming weather is causing increased winds? (Maybe Gusev has it's own Santa Ana winds. :-) ) Also, it's usually windier at higher locations.
