LJK's comment was inoffensive. The two MERs have been brilliant successes and maybe the best designed spacecraft to ever leave the Earth's atmosphere. However NASA has produced plenty of turkeys, e.g. Mars Polar Lander, Mars Climate Observer, Mars Observer .... It's good to see NASA's engineers are learning from their mistakes as they did with Mars Pathfinder's batteries.
