That is completely unbelievably mind-warpingly awesome news! I'd thought it might be a trick of the relative brightness and contrast of the two images, as well as the relative angles of the solar panels -- but you're absolutely right: the dust has obviously blown off the panels.
Hot diggity damn. We might make it to "Home Plate" after all, which is still the most intriguing feature near either of the MERs, IMHO.
By the way -- aren't you in Portland too? What the hell are you doing up this late???
