Even a provably factual item from a suspect source is dismissed, and if the source turns out to be a real nutball, it makes you look bad by connection. This can be taken to extremes: David won't read anything from the Washington Times, for example.

I have gotten in the habit of taking things I've googled, and "backing up" a few levels on the website to make sure I'm not on "KillTheFrench.com" or something.

I just find it easier to clean it up a bit. For example, rather than linking to NewsMax, I will find and link to the original story. Doesn't make sense, but saves trouble.
