I appreciate your aggrivation, but I am rather pissed off too that people are trying to cloud what is merely a media-sensationalized but cut-and-dry case.
The evidence is clear: TS was in a PVS, was cortically dead.
The science is clear: Nobody has shown improvement from a PVS after 5-6 months, and terry had 7 years before they wanted to pull the tunbe.
Legally it is clear: MS was well within his rights, and to abridge those rights will have SERIOUS consequences to the rights of spouses to make caregiver decisions.
So what pisses me off is that people are clouding the issue and not addressing the facts.
"If you want to call the points about the million dollar deals "bullshit" then fine, I was smashed at the time anyway.
"
Okay, thats fine. It is what it is- don't get pissed at me for calling it what it is.
But for you not to concede that your point of "No money left in 2005" is total bullshit when the facts are that MS, after 4 years of trying to keep his wife alive, suddenly decided it was time for her to go after he got the settlement in 1998.
Well its true that there is maybe 40k by the BEST accounting left of that 700k- so not, its not bullshit.
There is always an 'evil' interpretation of someones actions. I don't see why we have to go from the timing of these two events to 'MS is out for the money'. Winning the case could have been a turning point for him. Having 700k to investigate and pursue treatments, but finding that there were none out there, could also be a turning point. Jumping to conclusions and Slandering this person who fought loyally for MANY years (more than 4), when you have no effing clue about what he went through, when he is most likely just trying to do the best he can- well, thats arrogant, nasty, cruel, heartless bullshit.
"No, that's only half of it. The other half is MS observed change in behavior after the money came down and that MS was the sole heir to the cash settlement.
"
Your re-wording what I said, and the point of the Guardian A.L. doesn't say anything more than that there was money on the line.
Now there is not money on the line, in fact a million dollars given up by MS to walk away.
He stood by his guns. Good for him.
