I gave up on Shockwave a long time ago. I tried living with Java turned off but unfortunately the Web demands that capability. I've got popups blocked but there appears to be a class of popups that get around that setting. I've installed code from:

http://www.gozer.org/mozilla/popup_tester/

Unfortunately this code does not block all of these special popups.

I think(?) the goodguys are one step ahead of the hackers and spammers but it's an endless battle.
